Google ADS

With the pervasiveness of social networking and 24-hour-a-day access to almost any knowledge through the Internet, it's sometimes hard to believe it when you have trouble tracking down someone's phone number. When you really need that number, however, there are tools at your disposal. Just do a little sleuthing on the Internet.

  • Step 1

Perform a Google search of the person's name, adding in information such as his hometown, occupation, company, family member names, and any other information that might lead to his Internet presence. A phone number might be attached to any of the search results.

  • Step 2

Look for a company directory if you know where the person works. Her company may list its employees' office numbers, or a receptionist at her place of business may connect you to her.

  • Step 3

Enter the person's address, if you know it, into a search engine. Address information is frequently coupled with phone numbers.

  • Step 4

Search for the spouse of the person or search by the name of someone he lives with if you know it. Sometimes, couples or families are only listed under one of the names of the people in the house or apartment.

  • Step 5

Visit a people-search site on the Internet. Some of these sites charge a fee. Sites like Zabasearch list as much information as possible for people, including previous phone numbers and addresses. Often, however, some of the information is out of date or erroneous.
